Dubai 2023/2024: The Poetry of Water and COP28

In the winter of 2023-24 the Leila Heller Gallery in the Dubai, the largest gallery in the UAE, exhibited Maxi Cohen’s “The Poetry of Water”, water art Maxi captured in the UAE and Egypt resulting in paintings, large format photographs, multimedia works, mixed-reality, and video furniture. Unique in many ways, most innovative was the mixed reality, where participants viewed their brain activity in water, translated into art, sound and feelings through googles, an EEG headband and a haptic vest. The gallery drew an international audience.
Maxi also had work exhibited at the Abu Dhabi Art Fair and with the MIA Collection in Abu Dhabi. She will be back to exhibit work in the UAE for Art Dubai this coming March.
During COP28 in Dubai, Gina Bria, founder of the Hydration Foundation advancing the new science of water, and Maxi hosted talks on Water to Change Your Life. Real progress was made as a result of sharing agriculture water technologies and techniques, all using water as a solution for human health, planet health, and climate action.
